OUR DIRECTOR WAS GRAPHIC DESIGNER AND ART DIRECTOR FOR ALOHA FOR ONE AND A HALF YEARS. HE DESIGNED EVERYTHING FOR THE COMPANY FOR THE WHOLE OF EUROPE. THIS INCLUDED ALL CLOTHING AND ADVERTS FOR 2005-2008.

CLIENT

Aloha is one of the biggest lifestyle brands in the surfing world. It sells surfboards, apparel,
luggage and accessories all across the world but originated in Australia in 1978.

Over the years surfers such as Barton Lynch, Richard Cram, Shane Powell, Chris Davidson,
Beau Emerton, Luke Egan, Johnny Boy Gomes, Koby Abberton, Nathan Hedge, Dayyan Neve,
Kai Otton and Richie Lovett to name but a few, have through their extraordinary surfing and
individual personalities, cemented the Aloha brand into Australia’s rich surfing history.

The brand had 3 shops in the UK as well as more across Europe and the rest of the world.

OBJECTIVE

To take on the challenge, of being the Graphic Designer for the whole of Europe, for the
internationally known brand, 'Aloha'. This will include all design for products, branding,
advertisements and more.

SOLUTION

Oracle Design's Andrew Stone designed literally everything for the brand for the end of
2005 to Winter 2008. This included designing all men's and women's clothing for the UK
and Europe. Andrew designed all the colours and graphical elements relating to the
clothing, all designs had to include the graphics, pantone references for colours,
materials in which it should be produced and layers in which to print the garments.

As well as all the clothing, the same process was followed for the footwear, luggage,
wetsuits, rash-vests, accessories and more. This again included the men's and women's
ranges between winter 2005 to winter 2008.

Another mayor part of the post included designing all branding, advertisements, brochures
and point of sale for this period and the portfolio for this job is immense.

We also created a DVD brochure, which was the first of its kind for the company and
was a huge success at the time.

One other project he worked on at the time, was the complete design of the 'Cornish and
Open' surfing competition. This is one of the biggest competitions in the calendar and we
had to design competition branding, poster, t-shirts for men and women and a mini
website to promote the competition.
