Newquay & Par Athletics Club

ANOTHER CONTRACT FOR THE DESIGN PLACE IN TRURO, CORNWALL SAW ORACLE DESIGN CREATE BROCHURES AND BRANDING FOR THE ATHLETICS CLUB. THE A4 TRI-FOLD BROCHURE WAS THE FIRST OF ITS KIND FOR THE CLUB.

CLIENT

Newquay & Par Athletic Club was formed in 1984 by an amalgamation of two existing clubs,
Newquay AC & Par AC. The club boasts an impressive record of success, including having
club athlete Jemma Simpson (pictured) represent Great Britain at the 2007 World Athletics
Championships, 2008 Olympics, Jemma has also been selected for the 2009 World
Championships in Berlin. Also in 2009 Chris McQuillen Wright represented GB Masters in
the 3000m.

Par has an all weather synthetic 6 lane track, including 2 long/triple jump beds & runways,
high jump & pole vault areas, 2 javelin runways, shot circle and a competition standard cage
for discus & hammer throwing.

Newquay offers training facilities for most disciplines at Newquay Tretherras School.

They are signed up to the Club Mark Scheme and take our responsibilities for child safety
very seriously.

OBJECTIVE

To design a brand new tri-fold brochure for Newquay and Par Athletics Club, in Cornwall.
The club had never had a brochure in the past and as part of Andrew Stone's contract
at 'The Design Place' in Truro, he was tasked to design a new brochure for the club.

SOLUTION

The idea behind the swirls and lines on the cover, was to represent a running track, this
then flowed throughout the brochure and represented the clubs colours well. Jemma
Simpson who is the most successful athlete from the club is shown and lets future
members know what can be achieved.

The inside includes icons of sports the club has to offer and information about the club
and what is available for members. Overall the brochure looks good and works well to
show what is on offer for members.
