WE WORKED WITH PITPILOT FOR OVER 3 YEARS AS GRAPHIC DESIGNER FOR THE MAGAZINE. ANDREW OUR DIRECTOR ACTUALLY CREATED THE MAGAZINE WITH THE INITIAL 2 MEMBERS JOE MORAN AND BEN ABBOT.

CLIENT

Pitpilot captures all that is surfing in Britain. Pitpilot aims to expose British surfers in Britain
and abroad. Showcasing British talent in order to further and raise the profile of both British
surfers and the British surfing Industry. They ask that all advertisements feature British
surfers. Our philosophy, be a ‘British surfing magazine’.

Like a lard eating baby, Pitpilot is getting bigger, only a few years ago Pitpilot was run out of
two bedrooms, then after about 6 months they got a cushy little office in Newquay and
now the magazine has been sold to a large corporation in Oxford and is distributed to
thousands across the UK and Ireland.

OBJECTIVE

Pitpilot magazine was non-existent when our Director began working for the publication. He
worked along side the creator and editor, Joe Moran and another designer Ben Abbott, to
create over 10 issues for the magazine.

SOLUTION

Designed page layout and graphics for many articles in the magazine. This included a
monthly article called 'UK Pitstops' which documented the goings on around the UK
and various sessions surfers had and the news on what's been going on in each
area of the country. This work included dealing with writers, photographers, photo
manipulation, graphic design and dealing with printers.

Also Andrew designed many other articles, event graphics, animations and a
promotional DVD which told the story of Pitpilot and promoted the company used for
sponsorship and advertising.
