ORACLE WORKED WITH THE 'DESIGN PLACE' IN TRURO, CORNWALL. WORKING ON A CONTRACT FOR THE COMPANY WE DESIGNED WEDDING INVITATIONS FOR THE HERTFORDSHIRE LOCATION.
CLIENT
St Albans is an historic market town and cathedral city. The Registry Office is a three ceremony
roomed Gatehouse, which was a former Victorian prison. it provides an excellent choice of size
and ambiance for any wedding or special occasion.
The building is surrounded by beautiful gardens and an ancient cannon outside the front
entrance adds to the historical interest of The Gatehouse.
OBJECTIVE
St. Albans registry office, were looking to sell their own generic wedding invitations to the venue
which would be available for all future ceremonies. As part of our Directors contract at the 'Design
Place' in Truro, Cornwall, he was asked to design new invitations for St. Albans.
SOLUTION
Designed 2 generic wedding invitations to the venue using some great photography of St. Albans
registry office in the summer and winter. One shows the venue in the warm sunshine and the other
on a cold winter night. The idea behind the concept was to show the venue is available all year
round and depending on the time of year, people can choose whichever invitation they like. Also
showing off the venue itself is a great way to let people know how amazing and picturesque the
venue is. We also designed the inside of the invitation.
One of the main aspects of the design was the finish and print. The writing on the front was printed
with silver foil, as was the pin line around the picture. The picture itself was cut out of the cover and
on a separate glossy paper underneath and the paper printed on for the main invitation, apart from
the picture was a textured, thick card.
