The Headland Hotel & Spa is a luxury 5-star hotel in Newquay, Cornwall, overlooking the famous Fistral Beach, it is one of the most iconic hotels in the South West.
The Headland Hotel approached Oracle to develop its brand and individual brand offerings. This work has included rebranding the hotel itself and all its facility sub-brands, including the new multi-million-pound Aqua Club, restaurants, and spa. Exploring brand personality and inspirations, colour palettes for all brands, typography, image styling, usage, and examples of design, print, and production guidance. We have worked on everything from logos to signage, to print design, digital design and ongoing magazines.
Magazine and editorial design. We were tasked with completely redesigning the regular “The Headland Lifestyle” magazine. Developing a completely new style, font development, image placement, spacing, and working on a new grid layout for the magazine. The publication is produced twice annually, and we continue to design each issue for the hotel.
We also developed the quality of printed materials throughout, and the magazine is beautifully printed and overall look showcases the luxury offering, elegance, and uniqueness of the hotel.
Brand, Design for Print, Signage & Wayfinding. Working closely with the hotel on the new 10-million-pound development, The Aqua Club, we created the logo, branding, and styling for print. Even working up elements for the internal graphic designer and brand guidelines for them to follow. We also branded the new Deck Restaurant and over 50 different signs and wayfinding throughout the complex.
This involved CGI visualisation of the frontage, directional way-finding size and placement guide for the signage company to install. The signage materials used were high-end and designed to withstand the elements, from polished stainless steel 316 grade to withstand the sea air for the main front sign to perspex stand-off area signs and window graphics throughout for safety and direction. Designed by Oracle Design, print, production and installation by leading sign makers Cornwall Signs.
