Brochure, map illustration and signage design for Nansledan community in Newquay, for Duchy of Cornwall
The Duchy of Cornwall is a private estate founded in 1337 that funds private, public, and charitable endeavors across the UK by the Prince of Wales and his family. The Duchy of Cornwall extends across 23 counties in England and Wales. Its developments, including Nansledan in Newquay, set a benchmark for thoughtful design and environmental responsibility.
Our Work
We worked with the Duchy of Cornwall on a series of creative projects that celebrate both place and purpose. For The Sang country walk, which is part of the Nansledan development in Newquay, we designed wayfinding signage to take people on a journey across the site and explanation content for each point of interest.
At Nansledan, the Duchy’s award-winning urban extension in Newquay, we designed a Biodiversity brochure that brings to life the development’s environmental initiatives, alongside an Architectural brochure showcasing the character and craftsmanship of the new homes. Both pieces were carefully designed to reflect the Duchy’s values of sustainability, quality and heritage, while remaining clear and inviting for a broad audience.
As part of the project, we hand-drew and illustrated a bespoke map for The Sang country walk, giving it a unique and approachable character. Alongside the route itself, we created detailed illustrations of key points of interest, from the bird hide and historic mineshaft to the roundabout monument, green spaces and parks. The result is a map that not only guides visitors but also highlights the distinctive features of the landscape, helping bring the area’s story and identity to life in an engaging, accessible way.
